I’d never been a member of a gym, or even been to one, so after joining Bingham Arena I thought it was important to engage with someone who could both ensure I was using the correct techniques and also develop a realistic and achievable programme for my goals. Lewis listened to what was important to me and as I’ve progressed, he’s reviewed and adjusted what I do both during my sessions with him and when I’m training on my own. I had a knee pain issue which was diagnosed by a physio as originating from weak glutes. After only a relatively short period the exercise regime Lewis developed has made a noticeable difference for the better. Despite them being hard work, I can honestly say I enjoy the sessions I’ve had with Lewis and would highly recommend him.

Lewis is very knowledgeable, likeable and easy to get along with. He puts me at ease especially when trying a new move or lift for the first time. He clearly explains form and technique while demonstrating every exercise and makes sure I am doing it right. Having someone motivate and push you to push yourself, but in a very encouraging, supportive and non-pushy manner makes all the difference.
I have never felt out of my depth and I am thoroughly enjoying my workouts with Lewis. Each of my sessions are challenging but very rewarding for me both physically and psychologically as the feel good factor of achieving that slightly heavier lift or holding a plank a few seconds longer is immeasurable. Something I never achieved from DIY training.
I have a long way to go to reach my goals, but 6 weeks with Lewis and I am already seeing more results and the right results, fat loss, muscle gain, inches lost, than I ever did in decades of aerobics, HIIT & self strength training.

started training with Lewis in August to improve my general fitness and to get me ready for some of the sports I have been doing as I was not very fit. In just 3 months Lewis has pushed me to my limit and I have seen amazing results from the training I have been doing with him. He also tailored a personal workout session for me to increase my fitness in the particular areas I need for my sport. He also explained all the exercises I do before I do to help me understand how to do them perfectly and I have been able to do all the exercises first time without any trouble. Another thing is that he is very friendly and I always have conversations between each workout. If you are ever thinking about going to the gym and need someone to help you do it Lewis is the person you need.

I went to Lewis with goals around fat loss, strength and building muscle post menopause. I was a little apprehensive discussing this with a young man but Lewis listened to my concerns and assured me that there was lots we could work on to achieve my goals. I have thoroughly enjoyed my weekly sessions and have built muscle, improved my strength, lost fat and feel much more confident. I have MS and to the add to that I had suffered a bad break of the femur. Once I was recovered from the broken femur I knew I had to go the gym to help regain my fitness and build up the strength in the right leg (the leg I had broken). I approached Lewis for some guidance about the best way to achieve this. He was, from the very beginning, a good listener as to what I wanted to achieve and adapted the workout to accommodate my MS whilst also building up strength in my right leg. If I was finding an exercise difficult (due to my MS) then he would always think of a way of adapting and/changing the exercise so I could do something to workout the area we were targeting. I honestly thought I would just have one set of PT sessions with Lewis (to get me on the right track so to speak) but I ended up having 3 months worth of sessions with him.
I can honestly say these PT sessions with Lewis have been invaluable to me regaining the strength in my leg so that now I don’t walk in a ‘wonky’ way, can do everyday tasks and living without it feeling like a huge effort and has made me feel the best I have for a very long time. Without Lewis I could not have achieved what I have. He has challenged me and my body from the very beginning but he has also listened, adapted exercises and been responsive. I highly recommend Lewis to people who have specific medical needs/concerns, he has made such a difference to me and he could to you.

As a beginner in the gym it was difficult to know what are the best exercises to do, how to do them and how often. With all these questions going around my head I struggled to motivate myself to go to the gym at all but that all changed when I met Lewis. He comes across as very knowledgeable and friendly when helping me get used to using gym equipment for the first time. This filled me with confidence that I was exercising correctly and thus eliminated any gym related anxiety I had before letting him.
